If you don't see what's going on I'll explain. Why else would Bill Gates purchase a record amount of farm land in the US and test out his Beyond Meat line? They want us to eat vegetarian and limit meat intake to the extreme. This ties into the Green New Deal. Panic will cause poultry farmers to kill off their flocks. Faulty tests will show false positives, like our PCR tests. Hoarding will ensue.

I'm not here to fear monger. I have seen this Avian Bird flu subject start popping up on more and more news feeds over the past 2 months. Just something to keep a pulse on. Using a rear view mirror to see the history of how things operate is how I came to my conclusion about how things may go. Including what we have seen so far with Covid.

They're attacking the food supply. Another holodomor I'm afraid.

Get a double-mask for each chicken!

[–] 0 pt

You like chicken? Too bad you won't be able to eat it without our new vaccines!

[–] 1 pt

I’m gonna start eating people. Long as you don’t eat the brains. I bet that’s a weird feeling. You know when you hunt and fish so often that you start thinking like a predator and live animals make your mouth water? Now imagine that with people

Looking like things are marching that way.. operation lockstep doesn't sound pretty. Damn it..

Show me your dick before you can’t. Hurry

Going after backyard and small farm chickens as well. Plan is to keep people absolutely dependent on the government and big corps.

Yes indeed. May as well have a heads up now.

I think you're on to something here. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

[–] 1 pt

I think as long as we keep an eye on it we should be fine

[–] 0 pt

Thanks. We will see but good to have a heads up.

No one's touching my chickens. I have fifteen and I love everyone of them stupid clucks.

[–] 1 pt

Yiu probably named them as well? 😄

[–] 1 pt

Some of them, yes. There's Ginger because, well, she's Ginger. Maybe Jewish because she's really greedy and selfish. Then, there's GQ because he's aloof and always checking his plumage. Even inspects his feet just because. There's Spot, Brownie and Blackie but smaller ones will end up looking similar so I don't know if those names will stick. Before I go to bed I go out to check on them, do a head count and pet each one a bit to say "Good night!" Last night I caught a cat lurking near them so I'll set the trap tonight.

Best thing is, they constantly search for bugs and keep the Bermuda grass clipped short.

Worst thing is, in early morning they come up to patio door to make grumpy "Feed me!" Noises and they will turn their beaks up at regular chicken feed. They really want rice and noodles. Bread sprayed with hot water is fine also. What they really crave is raw hamburger. They also go nuts for spaghetti because they think it's worms. So, yah, they are spoiled rotten.

Work days I don't mind them getting me up at first light.

Lol wow. That's awesome. Definitely catch that cat!

I have a dozen also, I'm almost finished building a new coop so I can add at least 40 more birds.

[–] 1 pt

You would laugh if you saw my excuse for a coop. They won't sleep in it and instead prefer to use the flat roof which is a pallet. The sides two pallets with six two by fours on the sides using three inch construction screws. I'll be putting a peaked roof but knowing them they will just fly up to perch on the ridge and from there to find a nice spot in the persimmon branches. The five younger ones abandoned their hatchling crib last night in favor of the second floor as the older ones on top made it clear they are not welcome.

Coming for all sources of protein so you cannot sustain life and at the same time they are spraying lithium into the sky to drug us into passivity.

If you don’t like it you are probably a racist bigot homophobe Christian militant terrorist.

[–] 0 pt

Yes. All Heme based protein which is animal based.

The first 3 minutes are creepy and terrifying.. the scientist is telling everyone a cyber attack is going to make covid look like a small disturbance.. he's not a prophet but I take that as a stark warning and heads up to us. Damn...

Oh goodness. I've been noticing more of these articles too. I really should get a rooster soon while it's still legal to buy and sell chickens. My poor husband so loves to sleep in an extra hour on the weekends but... Oh well.

[–] 2 pts

I highly suggest it. And definitely try to buy local from a farmer or something. Not commercial as I'm guessing that is how it will " get here".

[–] 1 pt

Can I ask why you suggest purchasing from a local farmer? Our neighbor does sell chicks. My husband and I only just bought and moved into our first home and we're not very experienced yet with chicken ownership! He's concerned about getting a rooster that will be a breed that can maximize egg production and be decent meat chickens as well. We have only female australorps right now. So he wants to buy from the breeder so we can get an Australorp rooster. Just seemed like the thing to do. Our neighbor's chickens are just... Products of generations and generations of mixed breed chickens! Just like I grew up with, because our rooster was a different breed than any of the hens we started with and they were all different breeds themselves. I don't know, we have lots to learn. We do support our neighbor in ways other than buying his chicks. So far the chicks we've gotten from the breeder we used last time in Montana have seemed quite healthy. Except one who just seemed... Neurologically different. Like she seemed to totally lack any chicken instincts and would just stand there and not do anything ever. Only ate when I hand fed her and eventually I just let her go because she clearly didn't want to live.

Once our child is born and the chickens are settled in and the garden is going strong we plan on breeding pigs for meat as well. We have no idea what we're getting into really! I had pigs growing up but they were just pets. Lots to learn.

[–] 1 pt

I suggested local only because if they come from healthy stock and free range etc, they tend to be healthier and plus you can bet they aren't a sick animal pumped up on steroids or antibiotics.
I hope the best for your family and baby on the way and raising pigs. Don't overwhelm yourself 😁
