One of the positives for quitting is that you don’t have a medical discharge on your record - you’re qualified to go back in or join the Reserves/Guard.

When you join the military, they call you a GI.

That stands for government issue.

My wife has 25 years active duty military, with 3 years left till retirement. We have money set aside for an attorney if they mandate this, as she will NOT be taking it.

20+ is retirement. Unless she has obligation left, she can retire at any time. If she has 3 years left on an enlistment, then yeah that sucks. Officers can leave whenever if they don't have obligation from something like a recent pcs.

Military as a branch of government will in fact do their best to ensure they can skip out on paying people pensions then write off that pension monies to give as bonus to a upper level scumbag. They look to find reasons to not pay out, as incentives. This sounds like you’ve already heard what’s coming down to shit pipe. This Covid crap is a perfect way to cut a whole generation or two of benefits away from honest people.
