GoFundMe is fucking stupid, but their reasoning here makes sense. They need to confirm the funds will be used for the intended purpose, which is making sure the money goes to the hundreds / thousands of truckers to cover protest expenses and not some Jews' pocket. That won't be an easy task for the organizer, but it is necessary.

I'm not ruling out foul play yet, just commenting that putting it on hold until the organizer can show they have a system in place to disburse funds correctly is not a bad thing.

Why does GoFundMe have to be the gatekeeper? If the fundraiser misuses the funds, there are plenty of existing laws in Canada to address any issues. GoFundMe has no fiduciary responsibility other than to make sure the funds go from the donor to the fundraiser. They only involve themselves for political reasons. They are not law enforcement. If Al Queda started a go fund me, it is not their place to stop it. They should simply inform law enforcement and it is up to law enforcement to build a case to seize the funds.

How has go fund me not been sued for clear discrimination and bias... it's insane what they allow then turn around and fuck good people over...

Needs to be an anonymous go fund me for people that want to give and do it with out being canceled and be able to support who ever we want.

Both Rebel Media and True North have reached out to both organisers and GoFundMe. Although GoFundMe conducted an audit as they do with all large fundraising campaigns, they are satisfied with the organisation and have made funds available.

It is blocked. The funds are to provide direct financial support to truckers who are parking their trucks in Ottowa this weekend. They need the money now. Not 6 months from now. GoFundMe is financially hobbling the protest for political reasons.

Do you have to submit a withdrawal plan for approval from your bank before you take money out of your checking account. Even if you look at them like escrow, the escrow only acts at the direction of the parties.

Yes. Go to a truck stop in Canadastan. When you see an independent trucker filling his rig, ask if he is on his way to the protest. If yes, offer to pay for part or all of his fuel bill.

My prediction is even if every single trucker involved came out and said on video "we support this campaign", the excuse would remain "the money is being held till we can verify distribution."
