yup, most all are a scam
I got the inside scoop from a girl that worked for a cancer charity. It is worse then u can imagine and her "charity" was small time still told me about lavish parties vacations meetings in hawaii everything u can imagine.. now think of what is going on with the truly evil ones the ones doing shit in Haiti and other disaster areas truly fucked up
Non-profits are money laundering schemes. Look at who gives to these big charities, who starts the foundations, and what they get from them.
I'm not one to use absolute generalizations like the word ALL, but 99.9% of charities are not right. This includes your local church...
If the gov gives you a benefit (off your taxes or otherwise) for doing it, you should question who its benefiting. I'll give you a hint they are not doing it to encourage you get the warm fuzzies from "giving back"... Oh yeah, and If your local church was a real church, they would not be organized as a non-profit corp.
If you're not a precious metal berg, you'll go to jail pulling that scam.
That’s why I never donate: I’ll help people out. I bought a veteran some gas: I mean maybe he was a liar but he didn’t strike me as that. Plus he was missing a leg but who knows: I have a heart.
Yo dawg I heard you liked giving to charity, so I'm taking charity from your charity.
I dated a girl once who jad dropped out of college to run her own charity. She used to brag about how volunteers did most of the hard work raising money and how she got to pay herself pretty much whatever she wanted. I think the charity spend most of the money on it's objective, but it still seemed pretty scammy.
I don't know what you expect them to spend it on. I guess they could use only volunteer labor? if they spend it on goods, would you say they're not wasting it? if they gave it away would they be wasting it?
As far as being a scam, well, yeah, if you don't have intimate knowledge of what they do it probably is.
