This one is easy to blow off but actually is another tightening of the noose on the public. It would appear that any time a preferred status person suffered any sevear injury when non preferred status persons were the cause of it, it could now be a hate crime. This was what I arrived at, as well. When trying to consider "Who the fuck does this law benefit, how will it be used? When's the last time an actual lynching happened?", something occurred to me:
The simple fact that this law was proposed and passed in 2022 HEAVILY IMPLIES that "White people lynching black people" is a tremendous, frequently occurring problem that can only be dealt with by making the laws around it even harsher! But.... we all know that no, White people don't really murder black people, like at all to the point where it's statistically insignificant. We know that. Your average normie will make the bullshit conclusion- "Law is proposed/passed to address lynching problem, therefore lynching problem is real, therefore WHITE MAN BAD!"
And the law itself will be used to expand the definition of "lynching". As you said, any violent action taken against a nigger will now be looked at through this lens of "Can we make this into a hate-lynching?" by the prosecution.
