Because a mass shooting is 3 people dead or injured. This involves 9 people so i wouldn't be surprised if it did make the national news. But if 3 people in my city got killed or injured I couldn't possibly see that circulating all over the media— I assume this is normal being that the U.S is like the 9th highest in homicide rates.
