In Paris they have (or used to) these large trucks full of water with a nozzle pointed at the sidewalk. Several times a week, they might have done it every morning, not sure, they slowly drive down the street and wash the sidewalks. I was told they mostly did this to wash the urine away as French men have a tendency to just piss on the sidewalk after a night at the bar. Think they have pop up urinals various places now, not sure how thats working out.
They used to hose down the streets of Paris every morning due to the piss smell.
Not all of the streets - just the ones that were known to stink.
I haven't been in a few years so I'm not sure what they're doing now.
I haven't been in well over 20 years. Have not desire to go back now. Not after who they've let move in.
Yeah, it has definitely gone downhill since I first visited 15 years ago.
