They never developed writing and only had like 80 words in their entire verbal "language", which also lacked anything related to the future or the past as they are not human and lack the brain structures which allow for abstract thought (frontal lobe) and always live in a persistent "now".
Also, "White boy stoled it and called it the Morris Code"
