Funny. Same thing happened in my state. Old guy marked an X where the pickleball net is placed on a community basketball court. Parks&Rec dept of that city got their panties in a wad. They banned him from the facility for life. He would have been fine if he had just made a small dot/circle. But, being a retard, he made a large X. Given the popularity of pickleball and it is mostly played by old farts who don't give a rip, I'm sure this happens lots of places.
