I read that baseball players can see the threads on the ball as it is coming at them. They can see what way it is spinning and how fast it's spinning and they can extrapolate where the ball is going to go. (curve, rise, drop, etc)
That is amazing to me. I can hardly even see the ball at all when it is going that fast.
They see it, analyze it and react to it in less than a second. Amazing.

I've heard that as well. I've also heard hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in any professional sport.

I believe that. I tried it once with a leisure league level player and I couldn't hit off him. by the time I took a swing the ball was already passed me.
