The peoblem with building these kinds of detectors is that we don't know what dark matter is--or even whether it's made of particles at all. Without knowing what it's made of how do you know what to look for? There is a countless number of theories that claim to explain dark matter and so far none of them have worked. What are the chances that one of them is correct--the one that you happen to be testing? It's just a way for them to get paid.

Oh I know that fuckwit is. What led me to Nat Soc is science. Dindu used to talk about how intrigued he was by stars living in the inner city. Then I saw the fuckhead talk and he showed a voting graph for fuckwits that voted blue and the audience cheered. Science is unbiased like I'm sure you know and anyone that studies it. Results may piss you off but that's how it goes. When you try to shade your argument or your cause like that, you're a spectacle.

This would be a great front-page post, even if it would turn out to be a repost. It's new to those of us who ain't seen it yet!
