Yet another non-story in the media about fusion power, to add to our vast collection of previous non-stories. I quote from this article:
It's still short of anything that can perpetuate ongoing fusion, let alone release more energy than it requires. For that, we'll need something much larger, but it's a significant achievement nonetheless.
In other words (words that have actual meaning) they achieved nothing of any practical significance.
It used to be said 50 years ago that commercial fusion power was 50 yerars away. Well, no, it was a good deal farther away than that.
