Three-page intro paper to electrostatic explanations of gravity.

This was first proposed in a couple of fictional stories from some popular sci-fi magazines in the 1950s and 60s. Some guy travels to the Moon by neutralizing the electrostatic charge of his rocket which makes it easily leave the Earth orbit but he makes a mistake and forgetting that halfway between the Earth and the Moon that charges are going to be neutral and he'll be stuck between the two without a regular rocket to push him on to the moon.

And then in the electric universe YouTube series that was electro a lecture and by the guy who described gravity as Atoms with shifted nucleuses as is described here

I always thought electric universe theory was really neat and made a lot of sense, especially since 'science' is really being able to reproduce things and thus prove the theory about them.

If you haven't seen it yet, this is a cool site: https://www.holoscience.com/wp/

I favor the electric universe cosmology myself, it's much more in keeping with nature's simplicity and beauty than the standard model theories of cosmology. Just intuitively I feel that whatever is the "right" cosmology to help us understand what is actually happening, it should be elegant and have the sort of beauty in structure we're used to in nature and other physical rules we've discovered.

Electrostatic forces can be blocked and opposite electrostatic charges can be used to neutralize or counteract another electrostatic charge thereby reducing or cancelling the effects of said field. Gravity cannot be neutralized by apply an opposite of the same field. If gravity were electrostatic/electromagnetic, then we would be able to develop antigravity devices. No one has ever been able to do such a thing. I think this alone destroys the notion that gravity is electrostatic in nature.

Adding to this, we would be able to create artificial gravity by applying an electrostatic field if it were truly electric in nature. This is also not possible and there is no evidence that it could be possible. The idea that gravity is some other form of electronic field and force just doesn't hold up to practical experimentation. You can't block gravity. You can't neutralize it by applying an opposite like field. You can't create it by use of such a field. I'd say that effectively debunks the electrostatic theory of gravity.
