I can't seem to reproduce that error, no matter the image size (I successfully uploaded a 30MB jpg)
The client_max_body_size setting is working as intended.
Please upload the image that is causing the issue on kikebox or another image hosting that doesn't resize it and PM me the link. I'll try with it.
