Waking people up is the excuse the right needs to not do anything. They substitute “waking people up” for actually accomplishing anything real or tangible.

It’s the right wing excuse for lack of action. It was the excuse we made repeatedly for Don’s failures, that he was organizing something behind the scenes that we just didn’t know about, it was part of some plan, on and on with the excuses.

He got to the point that people were saying the losses were on purpose to follow a plan to wake people up. That’s how indefensible his failures became that there was no other possible solution in the minds of his blind supporters, except it must absolutely be on purpose.
