Mostly no, though. The guy was an executioner. And he was a physical coward- always forced the condemned to face away from him.
Maybe I'm crazy for thinking this, but if you're going to execute someone, I think you should look them right in the face when you do it. Otherwise, you turn into a crazed asshole like Che, and then you end up being betrayed, kidnapped, and murdered by American glowniggers.
