How well do I remember the acid rain scare of the late 1970s. All the fish were going to die. The trees were going to turn brown and die. Anyone caught out in the rain was going to get serious acid burns on his skin. The Great Barrier Reef was going to die. The acid in the rain was going to etch glass and fade the paint on automobiles.
Guess what happened? Nothing. Nothing at all.
The acid rain fraud was a forerunner for the ozone layer depletion fraud, the global warming fraud and the Covid-19 fraud. When you live a little while, as I have, all the frauds start to run together because they all share common characteristics.
- they have no discernable end point
- they are fueled by fear and ignorance
- the media hypes them to ridiculous levels of fear
- a small elite makes a great deal of money from them
- the general population is charged a great deal of money to supposedly fight the threats
- freedoms are always restricted
- critics of the hysterical narrative are publicly attacked, ridiculed, abused and suffer career setbacks
- when they are disproven, no apologies are ever given
- they gradually just fade away, although some, such as the global warming fraud, have legs and hang around a long time
Actually the Adirondack mountains saw a lot of their lakes lose most of their fish due to acid rain. When the DEC installed limestone water filters into the inlets to neutralize the acid the fish populations were about to rebound.
There is compelling evidence to anthropogenic global warming. That being said taking away white people's ability to burn fossil fuels while the rest of the world doesn't have to do shit isnt going to solve anything. Who's to say earth being warmer over the next 2000 years wouldn't be a good things anyway.
Well said. I remember acid rain was eating away at the buildings on the Acropolis. When clinton did away with Glass- Stegal Act, those with defined pensions were demonized and ridiculed; this was about the same time people that tried to be ready for emergencies were mocked as Preppers.
