Blood sugar spikes after binge eating or high carb diets are believed to be one of the major causes of the initial scarring of arteries which is then patched by cholesterol which then builds plaques which then break loose and cause heart attacks. So if you can prevent that initial scarring of the arteries by high blood glucose levels by either fasting and never having high blood glucose levels or taking chromium picolinate which helps insulin immediately stop those high glucose blood Spike levels then you're better off probably.

And remember it's not just about preventing heart attacks. Those clogged arteries don't supply blood to the muscles and tissues that are downstream of the clogs. Therefore those muscles and tissues atrophy. This is believed to be one of the major causes of aging and weakness in old age as well. So that's another reason to prevent the artery damage which leads to plaques which leads to restricted blood flow.

Or just avoid carbohydrates and you don't even have to fast or ingest Chinese chemicals.

True.

But sometimes you can't get enough calories from the available fat in your diet so you need to eat some carbs. And chromium is actually a mineral that used to be on our soil so it's not really a chemical from China.

"Previous research has found that the only factor that could produce substantial increases in life span in animals is a significant reduction in caloric intake. But the chromium supplements can produce an equally large increase without any such restrictions, Evans said."

"Physiologist Edward Masoro of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio has argued that restricted calorie intake works because it reduces the amount of the sugar glucose circulating in the animals’ bloodstreams--a theory that is becoming widely accepted. High levels of glucose damage proteins, a process called glycation, and are responsible for many of the ill effects associated with diabetes.

Masoro and others believe that this accumulation of damaged proteins is one of the major factors that accelerate aging and lead to death.

Evans started his longevity study because he and other researchers have observed in humans that chromium picolinate supplements reduce blood glucose levels and inhibit glycation, apparently by enhancing the activity of the hormone insulin"

You know what else lowers blood glucose levels, increases insulin sensitivity, and inhibits glycation of triglycerides? A ketogenic diet. No Chinese chemical tablets/capsules required. Carbohydrates and vegetable/seed oils are the poison, people.

Not just any chromium. Chromium picolinate in particular because only that form can be readily taken up by the human body.

By the way chromium picolinate is dirt cheap.

$7.90 for 250 or 360 tablets on amazon. Get the tablets not capsules. Anyone taking any kind of supplements should know that you can't trust capsules to dissolve in your stomach before they get s*** out your a*******. Take the tablet which break down immediately in your stomach. Plus capsules are full of all kinds of fillers. If you buy the tablets you'll see that they're just the tiniest pill you ever saw but if you buy the capsules they're obviously full of a bunch of crap. And I believe this article or some other article I read said that 200 micrograms a day that's 200 MCG was the proper dose for typical human to replicate the same levels they used in the rat studies. It's a little hard to find doses that are less than a thousand these days but the 200 MCG used to be pretty common.

Well good thing I started fasting.

Isn't that what Dale Gribble said he uses to stay young?

"Every orifice, every day."
