Besides the obvious: it'll never work, I wonder what bi product these little fuckers shit out to make said electricity

It's OK, we'll just develop a new enzyme to turn that into CO2.

The enzyme incorporates hydrogen ions in air which naturally have very high charges and will quickly hydrolyze anyway.

They call the enzyme Huc, it'll take more published data on electrical efficiency for the synthesis or extraction of the enzyme but this is a pretty major breakthrough and very likely will change how we make and use electric cars assuming the paper isn't making radical exaggerations.

The organelle in the slime bacteria that creates this shit is like a mitochondrial organelle that uses hydrogen over glucose, There is even a theoretically use case for this enzyme in multicellular life assuming the bacterium colonies aren't just excreting it and getting shocked and using that as electromechanical impulse for moderating growth or glucose distribution.

If the efficiency is high enough expect this shit to be used to halve the rare earths needed to construct electric cars and reduce the need for lengthy fill times at charging stations, just pour it like gas. the challenge will separating the waste product from the unsullied huc, that waste product will probably just be a simple hydrocarbon so it'll either have value in producing fuels or plastics or be safely disposed of in the ground. Probably safe considering common soil bacterium produces this stuff.

Don't expect this shit to replace solar panels but if it does expect architecture to be covered top to bottom in a slime mold by the time you are old.

That still doesn't answer my question however. The enzymes are tied to a specific bacteria which uses said enzyme. If you eat something, there is always a waste product. So what are these little hydrogen eating niggers shitting out?

I told you, hydrocarbons. They are grown in captivity so if that hydrocarbon is methane or another combustible it's just a few pipes from being bottled for easy use.

Shit hell that is neat
