If you have a crapload of really nasty tasting wine or beer you can make something drinkable.
For something drinkable you don't need to bring it to 100%, nor do you really need a fractional distillation column to get something with a decent kick, but hey.

If you wanted to make negligible alcohol wine, it's not a bad idea.
