The 1B is getting pretty long in the tooth at this point, maybe they just didn't feel like it was worth the while to make a version for it.

Maybe, but it doesn't make really sense since it's pretty close to the raspi zero and debian ships the same distro for both, so that's not like there's a quantum leap in terms of compatibility involved somewhere

There's no 0 or 0W on there either. The 2/3 use ARMv7 with the 4 being an ARMv8 - the 0 and 1 are both ARMv6.
I guess they just didn't want to spin up a v6 core distro for whatever reason.
