The specs on this SBC are strange. Namely lowering performance. Generally, they tend to boost performance, not cut it. Why bother putting an audio jack with mono output? They removed a bunch of hardware too, surprising some of their decisions.

I was laughing when I read "Rockchip RK3566 and RK3568 are mostly software compatible"... that's a "they aren't compatible". In computers, there's no such thing as mostly compatible. Either they're compatible or they're not. LOL. Reminds me of "we mostly have freedom of speech." Right.

ODROID-M1S. The "S" designator obviously means slow. LOL.

I did like the eMMC flash feature. That's cool.

Cost the driving factor here? Since you can't get a Pi without selling an arm, a cheap alternative may be attractive.

Yup. Last I looked the price of RPis has dropped significantly, at about $60 for a 4gb model, but you typically don't need high performance for specific applications, like monitoring sensors, etc.

I'm surprised they've come back down to that level. Are they available, tho?

Looks nifty. Me, I switched most of my stuff to the Orange Pi 5, which is more expensive but much faster.
