Westoids wouldn't get it, but as kids we literally couldn't wait to leave the lame stinky school behind and hit up the computer club that was located right by the school and play CS1.6 for 8 hours until it got dark, every single day. Those were the days. If I saw something like this today I'd get paralyzed with nostalgia for good 10 minutes at least.

Where I am from, we didn't wait. There was also COD, BF1942, DotA, Heroes 3... Remember Ogame?
Our assortment was leaning more into early 00's shooters, stuff like CS1.6, Q3, UT99, Will Rock, with some other classics of the time. Dota appeared rather late, people played W3/SC in MP though, barely anyone played COD/Medal of Honor multiplayer, and I don't think I've ever seen HoMM there. I remember seeing someone play those fag browser games on occasion, might've been ogame, not sure.
