An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led.

That's pretty much a melting pot of The Matrix and Doctor Strange.
CGI are quite good for the budget they've spent.

The characters were unlikable. Excessive faggotry and degeneracy were on display from the start. The implication was that the main character lived her “very best life” as a single woman or as a dyke, herself. It’s full of all kinds of rah-rah dyke shit. Yet another “powerful womxn” character who is called upon to save the day.
Casting. During pre-production, Jackie Chan was considered for the starring role; the script was originally written for him before Kwan and Scheinert changed their minds when they couldn't to him and re-conceived the lead role as a woman, feeling it would make the husband-wife dynamic in the story more relatable.
I’d have given Steven Seagal a call. It would have been equally lazy and stupid but less faggy.
My guess is Jacky Chan is too tied with the CCP and he didn't want to be involved with what the spoiler I posted in the post content described.
