For decades people having regular episodes of severe heartburn were called nuts. No bacteria could ever survive in the acidic medium of the stomach.
Today you get a course of two antibiotics for a week or two and its gone for good. More people need to be aware of this.

Talk to your doc, he'll probably recommend an endoscopy to test for it and then prescribe the antibiotics. That's the common practice here in Germany. Good luck!
