I tried to read her best known book The Left Hand Of Darkness a couple times but couldn't make head nor tail of it. I assumed that it was a failing of my intellect but over time I've grown to suspect it was just poorly written. She's always been shown great respect as a SF author but I am at a loss to understand why. The 1st book of her Earthsea trilogy is quite good but it's a kid's book, and the 2nd and 3rd books are disappointing.
