Different rock - but worth mentioning I read the Nathaniel Hawthorne story of the Great Stone Face in New Hampshire when I was a child. It was memorialized on their state quarter and license plates. When I finally got a chance to visit and see it for myself, I found the face had fallen off a few months earlier. Now, the whole front half is gone.
