Yes. Or the imaginary problem to which they purport to be the solution.

And if there isn't a problem, they will create one so they can create a agency to preserve it. Thus providing employment for the otherwise unemployable.

I'm old enough to remember that when the US Department of Energy was created during the Carter administration, their mission was supposed to be to make the US energy independent from Saudi oil in order to break OPEC's grip on US energy supply.

So after we started exporting oil and natural gas, why wasn't the DOE eliminated?

And don't even start on the DEA and the so-called, quote, unquote, "War on Drugs". Guess we can't have one government agency defunding another one, huh?

Or the DHS, and the "War on Method".
