I do ZERO of that IoT shit. I've been in cybersecurity too fucking long to put up with that.
I’ve always thought that connecting household appliances & items to the internet was stupid, this proves I was right. Anyone who buys such an item is throwing their money away. There is no reason a mattress or a refrigerator needs an internet connection.
What, you don't want to be able to use x on your refrigerator? /S
How the fuck does it even gain network access? Like who is setting up their bed and is like "yeah I gotta join the bed to the wifi"? Do people actually go along with stupid shit like that?
I think you already know the answer.
If it connects to the Internet, it will likely stop functioning when the company's servers stop being maintained. That's enough of a kill-switch already.
Ridiculous. Just get a heated blanket instead of a internet-connected heated mattress.
That seems too obvious. What did people do before the internet?
