I've tasted lots of different birds, but never heard about a place that serves owl as a dish.

Owls in Hawaii are good luck. I travelled the trail to the Na Pali coast, and late, late one night on a full moon and a giant white owl glided ahead of me for a while, leading the way through the giant kiawe trees. I'll never forget it.
