As of about 5 p.m. Thursday, crews had recovered four vehicles from the water, police say, and the rest will be removed in the coming days. Dallas' new police chief was on the scene of the recovery and said the cleanings are part of a new initiative to potentially solve crimes.

"Great" article and video. What a shame it said nothing. No explanation of how the cars got there, why the cars are there, when the cars were discovered, who the cars belonged to, can a drug dog detect drugs destroyed by being submerged in nasty ass water, etc.

Yeah, though. In a situation like this it is usually cars that had been stolen and ditched. I am willing to bet that is the case here.
