I started carrying a full tang knife on a belt sheath several months ago. Only about a 3" blade, maybe 6 inches altogether including the handle.

I find myself using it all the time. opening plastic bags, opening plastic packaging, opening envelopes, cutting tape on a box, cutting trimmer line etc.

It'd also be really quick and easy to grab incase of self defense. Also I feel like openly carrying a knife can act as a deterrent on it's own.
