The Novavax vaccine is similar to the traditional vaccines that contain a "dead" virus, only that in this case, the "virus" is an artificially created molecule that resembles a virus. This is less dangerous than mRNA and viral vector vaccines but has still three drawbacks:
Traditional and pseudo-virus vaccines must convince the immune system that the non-functioning virus is still a thread that it must fight against. They do it by poisonous adjuvants that trigger a response.
The SARS-CoV-2 spike protein is very dangerous because it contains a region that triggers the immune system into overdrive (a so called super antigen), leading to allergic reactions or even a cytokine storm.
The antibodies created against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein can attack body tissue (myelin, heart muscle and platelets). If people create exactly these antibodies is coincidence. The immune system has mechanisms to avoid the creation of dangerous antibodies. These mechanisms work very well in a real infection but seem sometimes to fail in a vaccine induced artificial infection. This is true for all SARS-CoV-2 vaccines (or maybe even for all vaccines).
Thanks for that
