I've always found the images like this to be fascinating. This wasn't just some artistic representation of a saint, this was a portrait of someone who lived thousands of years ago. The ages look back at us, and they probably weep in frustration at the clown makeup plastered all over everything.

Biggest part of this story that no one is talking about is that these portraits were found in Philadelphia. No one is asking how these came to be buried under a US city or what ramifications this might have on our understanding of history.

This is not some kind of criticism of you the poster. I like the picture and the sentiment--and I KNOW I sound like a broken record--but ScienceAlert is a turd of a site. Don't believe me? Just check out their environmental section. How about all of their COVID shilling? The only reason any of "their" articles are any good is because they have started simply re-posting articles from other sites. This one came from Business Insider.
