“Ask Jesus into your heart.”
Nowhere in scripture and a distraction from what we must truly do. This is Eve-tier mishandling of God’s Truth, and the results have been the same folly we see around us.
We have a clear understanding of what we must do in The Word.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” Acts 16:31
Believe in His: Deity - He is God and was from before the Beginning.
Incarnation - He condescended to become like us, becoming flesh - theanthropos - so that He might experience and overcome what we endure.
Perfection - He never erred and never sinned, both to make Himself as Perfect Sacrifice, but also to demonstrate that, in His humanity, He could do what Adam could not.
Death - He went to the Cross to pay the penalty of death for us.
Burial - He carried our sin and debt to the grave, leaving them in the tomb forever.
Resurrection - He returned to this world in a regenerated body to not only conquer Death, but to give us hope of Eternal Life, our own future Regeneration, and Life more complete after our salvation.
Ascension - He separated Himself from this sinful world because His regenerated form would no longer tolerate the evil, and as a sign how we are to be “set apart” from the world spiritually. Because when He returns, He will destroy the wicked.
Session - He reigns from His throne at the right hand of the Father, ruling over us and sending His Spirit to aid us in the path of obedience.
Word - The Bible is the inerrant, uncompromising mind of Christ, and to reject any part is to reject it in total. We must study it and write it on the tablets of our hearts.
This is the expectation. This is what it means to say “Jesus is Lord.”
