They’re trying to claw back the freedom we gained during. I empathize with them, but they face a penalty for these policies. The most valuable employees—the ones who always have employment options—will be harder to get if you force them to waste their time commuting to your office 5 days a week. If I had to I would accept a lower salary for a job I can do from home.

Imagine being someone who employs those valuable, sought‐after employees without offering remote work. Your employee options will be what’s left over from your competitors.

Employers are already having trouble finding people with the vaccine injuries taking so many out of the work force. Trying to force people back to the office could sink your company.

I empathize with employers. Some people will not focus on work unless they are in a shared office with others looking over their shoulder. That’s not my problem though. I get more work done from my own private office. It’s also easier to have meetings when you don’t need to find a scarce meeting room.
