Well... I mean, I guess they are at least trying to learn the language. I can't help but think there are free programs/classes for this already available though. Not sure why they decided it was worth the effort to use a bunch of fake documents to claim they are high school aged.

From the post: "A 28-year-old woman who enrolled at a Louisiana high school and posed as a 17-year-old student to learn English has been arrested along with her mother, authorities said Wednesday.

Martha Jessenia Gutierrez Serrano and her mother, Marta Elizabeth Serrano Alvarado, 46, both of Boutte, were arrested Tuesday, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Each are charged with a one count of injuring public records."

I get alerts from a New Orleans news source and saw this as well. I watched a clip with some authority saying she meant no harm. So, we can break rules/laws and it’s cool if we meant no harm?

Well, If you are Killery you can commit felonies that most definitely lead to harm as long as you "weren't aware" or "didn't have the intention to cause harm".

Further down the article they even said there are local services available that they could have used as adults. What was the real reason for doing this? Its going way out of the way to fake being a teen? Maybe a further scam down the road or something?

She does look pretty young in that picture. Not sure if I would say 17 but I don't know any 17 year olds or have friends with kids that age.
