They sent out an alert on X telling drivers not to use it. 1. How the fuck were drivers supposed to read that (assuming they were even following the department that sent our the tweet) and 2. Why wouldn't they push out emergency broadcasts to all phones in the area, over all TV and radio stations too? I guess they wanted people to die from the collapsing bridge.
Terrorism or incompetence?
This incident has dramatically increased my fear of travelling over bridges.
I don't think you can repair that damage, thats got to be a total scrap and rebuild situation.
It arrived at the Seagirt Marine Terminal in Baltimore on March 24 after delivering to the Port of New York /New Jersey, and had offloaded a small amount of containers before attempting its return journey to Asia early Tuesday morning.
