Lets face it. We all know why they are getting rid of self-checkouts. It's the same reason in some cities the entire store is "locked up".

From the post:

>Target is quietly pulling self-checkout stations from more stores as backlash grows and concerns over theft mount. Just last March, the retailer — America’s sixth-largest by sales — committed to installing self-checkouts in all 2,000 US locations.
But since then, Target has walked back that plan through a series of quiet U-turns. While the company has declined to comment, shoppers and employees are reporting kiosks being removed, item limits imposed, and self-checkout lanes frequently left closed — all signs that the chain is rethinking its approach amid a spike in theft. Other major retailers have also shifted course. Last year, Walmart removed self-checkouts and replaced them with traditional manned lanes.
This week, a customer said their local Target had abruptly removed all self-checkouts overnight. A photo showed roped-off kiosks and scuff marks left on the floor where the machines had been.

Good. If they aren't giving me a discount to bag my own groceries, I'm not doing it anyway.

I will wait in line for a cashier, the idea of me scanning my items then the thing when I click total then sliding the card and the machine telling me it's a card only machine and acting like the card never swiped is like you need to reprogram this crap, a card means I'm done scanning get me the fuck out of here quit the bullshit questions then ask if I'm done only then if yes print a fucking reciept don't ask if I want to have it emailed sent to my phone since giving any business my phone number to sell to whoever corporate sells lots of customer info to is not happening and it should be illegal since we have rights to privacy and without card or smart phones they'd have a lot harder time doing this. Now the only thing I think is fine is calculating the percentage of men that like certain products so they'll stock them more or make sure they don't run out of them when I want to buy a certain product but if I see a targetted ad online they just lock my business because of a busibody marketer in my business. I'll let them know that since I've called companies and told them why I am not buying this or that and if it's the marketing using online ads then they'll not or add that to the list of why this marketer sucks.
