These tarrifs are basically the reversal of NAFTA.

NAFTA failed, Mexico and Canada took advantage of it and acted as a back door introducing Chinese goods into USA ... plus Canada at least still had tariffs on American products (like dairy tariffs of 250%). Unfair trade practices. They FA, now they FO.

There are literal ghost towns in the Midwest as a result of NAFTA. Corporations had replacement factories set up and opened the morning after NAFTA was signed and the factories in USA were locked when US workers showed up for work that morning.
