We already did this in 1964, 61 years ago. The screwworm fly used to be in the southern US back before the 60s.
I get that, but are there currently any screw worm reports in Texas I am not seeing?
The only actual news I can find (ntxe-news.com) are claiming that there are 'reports' of the insects 370 miles south of the Texas-Mexico border, yet speak of it like it is an impending emergency.
Given the history of our Federal Government, I don't innately trust this type of shit.
It's a non-issue that can be stopped with 60 year old technology and obvious clickbait.

I have my doubts these flies are not genetically fucked with beyond being sterile. These days we can't just accept something like this is going to be innocuous like it was back in the 60s. There's too much temptation for (((science))) to act only in good faith.

WelI, I hope those thoughts comfort you as listen to the screams of your neighbors while they are slowly devoured by GMO screw-worms
