This is a problem everywhere. Taxpayers are a bottomless money wallet...until they aren't.

All governments claim they have a revenue shortfall, what they really have is a spending problem. When I can't buy that Lamborghini, I can't extort money from my neighbors or counterfeit currency. Rather, I have to put off buying that vehicle or buy something I can afford.

3% increase here a year besides any bonds or measures that get passed and let me tell you these clowns love voting to approve bonds and measures.

This is one of the most pervasive and yet frustratingly simple issues to solve in the present day. The only reason why we have to deal with this is because conservatives don't vote in their local elections. I'm a poll worker so I can see this issue up close. The reason why local councils are filled with people who love raising taxes isn't due to a lack of good candidates. Lots of people run for their city councils with the express purpose of lowering taxes. The problem is that they never win. Not because nobody voted for them per say, but because hardly anyone votes at all. My district is very conservative, yet nearly all of our local offices are held by Democrats and the few Republicans we do have are neoconservatives. Why? Because turnout is usually no higher then ten percent. It's abysmal. The only people who come out to vote are party insiders and progressive activists and as a result only candidates who cater to their interests get elected. Conservatives don't seem to understand that constitutional republican government only works for those who SHOW UP!!!

So Texas is not the dream escape destination for Californians?

No, it’s horrible. Please stay away. High taxes, hurricanes, cockroaches the size of your foot, snakes, mexicans, niggers.

And don't forget about the fire ants.
