They aren't useful anymore, the powers that be have already set the narrative and taken the photos necessary for it.
Funny thing is, there's enough soldiers there to just round up all of Congress and make them stay/argue/pass laws in the garage, and let the troops stay in the halls.
Or really, all it would take is one head-strong commander to say 'fuck all this noise' and just have these treasonous politicians put up against the parking-garage wall, and shot.
