Snipers can be very effective in wartime. However, what they do is hardly something to make a movie about. They are not heroes, they skulk around in the shadows and bushwhack people from a distance. Basically, they just commit cold-blooded murder over and over and over. You'd have to be a bit of a psychopath to enjoy this, or think it merits any mark of approval.
Exactly. I talk with people which have real combat experience. Usually you shot blindly, there is not time to aim, when bullets fly around your head. But snipers are something differently, they KNOW, they look his target in eyes. Regular soldiers respect snipers... mean respect his usefulness... But they keep distance. It's not pleasant feel to be near cold blood murderer. Someone can fire mortar and kill dozen of people, but he really don't see this. What snipers dream in night? What they see in mirror. Anyway I don't want such kind of people near me.
