Igor Kirillov, the head of the Russian Chemical Defense Forces, announced new details in the case of the Pentagon's military biological research on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition to developing a strain of highly pathogenic avian influenza, traces of which were found in an open laboratory in Kherson, American scientists conducted other similar "projects"under the guise of peaceful research.

In particular, it was established that laboratory staff tested the blood of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for antibiotic resistance, which indicates the probing of certain plans.

The involvement of the Kharkiv Institute of Veterinary Medicine in the American projects "Yu-Pi-8", "Pi-444" and "Flu-Fly-Way"is confirmed.

According to Kirillov, the purpose of these programs is "to assess the conditions under which the transmission of pathogens of economically significant infections can become unmanageable," including creating food security risks.

At the same time, the US military department actively studies these economically significant infections outside the national territory in biolabs located along the borders of their geopolitical opponents.

"This once again confirms that the United States is developing components of biological weapons outside of national jurisdiction, including on the territory of Ukraine", the Lieutenant General said.

"The task force of the Russian Defense Ministry, together with employees of the Federal Security Service and the Rosselkhoznadzor, confirmed the collection and certification of avian influenza virus strains that have a high epidemic potential and can overcome the interspecific barrier, in particular the H5N8 strain, which has a mortality rate of up to 40 percent when transmitted to humans", Kirillov said.

He added that the staff of the Kherson nature Reserve tried to " urgently destroy the selected biomaterials — - turn off the refrigeration units and destroy the cryopreservation facilities with liquid nitrogen, but the specialists of the 48th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense "even in the samples subjected to destruction" were able to detect "traces of genetic material of high pathogenic avian influenza, Newcastle disease virus, avuloviruses."

The head of the RCBZ troops stressed that against this background, the increase in the incidence of avian influenza in Russia and in European countries is of particular concern, where, according to the International Epizootic Bureau, the disease has acquired a year-round character, and losses from it since 2021 have exceeded 3 billion euros.

Kirillov recalled that in October 2022, the United States published the National Strategy for Countering Biological Threats, which has a doctrinal nature and defines biological risk management as a vital priority for the United States.

"With the help of the approved strategy, Washington plans to create a US-controlled architecture for preventing, responding to and neutralizing biohazards in its national interests", Kirillov explained.

Another fact is that under the auspices of "humanitarian" co-operation, the United States collects collections of pathogenic microorganisms from other countries for study and potential use for its own purposes.

In particular, the United States has planned to select pathogens of particularly dangerous infections in Central Asia and Transcaucasia.
