It's important not to let Big Pharma run a game on us, whereby they ban these cheap, effective drugs, then push on us drugs they cobble together that are not as effective, in order to patent them, and then charge 100 times more for us to buy them. They've already tried to do that with Ivermectin.

A very small study, but promising.

They found that the metroprolol treatment reduced neutrophil infiltration of the lungs. They should look at the blood vessels too, there is a similar problem of neutrophils (leukocytes) moving to the sites of inflammation (causing blood clotting). In India, they use colchicine to fix that ("this is an easy disease to treat"):

Be extremely careful with this drug, you may only need a 1/4 if your healthy my doctor gave me some for a rapid heart rate and said only take a 1/4, I forgot and took a full one and ended up in the hospital with a heart rate of 10 bpm until the drug wire off.
