Made up bullshit about non binary and all that nonsense didn't exist until the 1990s so of course ancient romantic languages had 2 terms for it. The only possible two.. masculine and feminine, aka male and female. Just check your genitals if you're confused on which of the two you are. If still confused, go to a mental hospital for help.

As in most other Romance languages, the historical neuter has merged with the masculine.
Interesting.

It really the same in English, man meaning human includes all humans. Woman (tits and vagina on man) is the only distinguishing word.

Non-Binary doesn't work in the English language either.
Non is a negating prefix. That act of negating something creates a new system of two states; binary and non-binary. Since there are two states this new system is binary. That makes the term non-binary an oxymoron.
