While checking out a chuch 20 something years ago, I was invited to a lunch at one of the members houses. It was an older area where parking was an issue, so I had to park about 6 blocks away. After lunch there was a bunch of leftover food and I was offered an unopened bag of pre mixed salad. I took it to be polite.
On the walk to my car, I was approached by a homeless woman who was on the verge of teats saying she hasn't eaten in 3 days and wanted some money to eat. I told her she was in luck, I didn't have any money, but she could the brand new salad thay I had. She looked at the salad, her face changed from sad to disgust and she said "I can't eat THAT" and she stormed off.
This food bank will weed out people who would have spent money given to them on drugs and only serve those who are actually hungry enough to eat anything.
