The few times I checked that out, the network was "free speech, as long as it's our kind of free speech." Similar to Mastodon, which is very censored, probably just as much as Twitter.
The Gnu Social network was fairly uninhibited back in the day, the few instances that disallowed stuff did so because it was illegal in their host country.
