About the only reason for dehydrated items is to increase potency. You can put a little on the surface where it will have maximum taste effect. But if you mix it with water and let it re-hydrate and spread out, why not use fresh?

Made a lunch meal prep last week in the slow cooker.
Chicken brodetto
About 1kg chicken thighs, toss them in the slow cooker with 3 copped onions, 6 cloves of garlic, branch of fresh rosemary, few bay leaves, salt and pepper. For liquid - 1 can of chopped tomatoes, top off everything with white wine, about 1/3 of the bottle. Serve with polenta as the side.
Super easy to make.
